Develop your pupils’ understanding of renewable energy, whilst improving their debating skills at the same time, with this fantastic set of resources about wind farm development!

Pupils can take on stakeholder roles and work cooperatively to research the pros and cons of installing wind turbines, before participating in a mock planning debate on the subject. An ‘official’ letter introducing the project, character role cards, teachers’ factual notes, and lesson plans have all been created to help you and your pupils on your way. 

This activity would be perfect as a follow up from Sustainable Shaun’s Energy Crisis computer lesson, or as a standalone lesson incorporating a range of cross-curricular learning objectives.
