Exploring Wildlife in Winter
Investigate the strategies used by British wildlife to survive the winter...
Years: 3, 4, 5, 6
This lovely resource from Free Range Learning focuses on the strategies used by British wildlife to survive the winter, and how human activity can have a positive or negative impact. The teaching pack contains all the materials and instructions to play ‘Nappers vs Snackers’, an active roleplay game that can take place inside or outdoors, which teaches pupils about hibernation and the importance of storing food for the colder months. Accompanied by plenty of discussion ideas and extension activities, this is an ideal starter activity for ‘living things’ topics, at any time of the year!
