ECO-nomics 4: Product Design

Pupils learn how to design an effective sustainable product to sell.

Years: 5, 6

Duration: 60mins

Subject: D&T

Resource Overview

Using their market research data, and working to a design brief, each team will work collaboratively to design their product in this lesson.  A collection of different 'how to' guides can inspire your students with suggestions on what they can make in this D&T inspired lesson.  Children will also draw up a costed shopping list of items they require for production, balancing this against their budget.

This lesson follows on from ECO-nomics lesson 3 'Data Analysis' and is also linked with the ‘Clothes Drive’ Mission of Sustainable Shaun (www.sustainableshaun.com).  This ECO-nomics challenge is designed to run over a series of lessons with eight tasks, all with associated plans and resources.
