Resource Overview

Ideal as an introduction to the water cycle, this resource gives an idea for one of so many ways that the fantastically inspirational The Drop in my Drink by Meredith Hooper can be used.

'Water trickles and seeps and flows. It freezes into hard ice.
It floats in the air. It is liquid and solid and vapour.
It is never still.
Little drops of water drip from my tap.
Where did you come from, drop of water?'

...and so the story begins. The book then takes us on a captivating journey from before the Earth was formed to the present day journeying through the tallest trees and the smallest flowers; from coral reefs to dinosaur infested swamps.
This resources uses this book to introduce children to the water cycle and  encourages them to question something so vital.
