Best of Bristol Virtual Fieldtrip: On Your Bike

Come with us on a virtual fieldtrip, exploring Bristol's very best examples of sustainability.

Years: 3, 4, 5, 6

Duration: 5mins

Curriculum Objectives: 4

Subjects: Geography, PE, PSHE

Resource Overview

This virtual fieldtrip is all about cycling, and how bikes can benefit our bodies, our communities and our planet. Encourage your pupils to embrace pedal power both at home and in the classroom, after watching the children in the film do just that! Our fantastic cycling-themed learning materials can get you started: for example, motivate children to travel more actively with Sustrans’ Big Shift online challenge, and show them how to add the ‘wow factor’ to their bikes, with craft ideas such as bike-streamer making (which can be found in the 'Upcycled Craft' section of ECO-nomics Lesson 4, Product Design). Take a look at the related resources to find out more, and enjoy the power of the pedals...
