Do you know your Peacocks from your Red Admirals and your Painted Ladies?  Can you name the 3 common types of White butterflies?  If so, this is one for you.  If not, here's your chance to take part in the world's biggest butterfly survey and brush up on some of the 59 species of butterfly found in the UK. 

The big butterfly count is a nationwide survey aimed at helping us assess the health of our environment. It was launched in 2010 and has rapidly become the world's biggest survey of butterflies. Over 113,500 people took part in 2019, submitting 116,009 counts of butterflies and day-flying moths from across the UK (click here to see all the 2019 results). big butterfly count 2020 will run from Friday 17 July to Sunday 9 August.
